THE PILLOW

Hello and  here is another pillow to greet you.   First please excuse the color seems like me and the computer and my camera are having a discussion and hopefully I win.  I mean they are just machinery aren't they?    Although sometimes I wonder about them, that computers may have a mind of their own and will take over the world.   OK I am getting off on the syfy part of my brain and I save that for my other blog. But you do wonder.

Here is a pillow I finally put the finishing touches on.  I had started it a while back a but had not finished it because I didn't know who was going to get it.  It is now resting in a beautiful home in the UK and I know it will be loved.   Funny how we get attached to articles isn't it?  After sewing the pastels together my muse seems to take over.  I absolutely do not plan one thing on any of the creations I make.   They just form themselves, whatever it is I am sewing.    I find a ciggie I like and the colors go and grow from there.

This lady is sporting a vintage earring I found at an estate sale, I saved the other one for myself.  I just fell in love with the  pink and sparkle of it.  And it was only $2.  I promised the owner's daughters I would create something out of it as pretty as the earrings were. They grinned and said they would tell their mother what I was going to do.

Here is the whole pillow in all it's pastel glory.

A close up of the gal and her flowers and butterfly floating around the garden.   I love making the little "trail" they might make for us.  Dancing around in the air with their beautiful wings and gracefulness.

Now I had to add of course the garden spider and two little birds visiting  about the many things that happens in a birdies life.

There you go one of my newest projects.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my CQ world today.

XOXOXOXOXO

March Madness at Tisha's

Hello   CQ ladies, well we all like sales don't we?   Now this one great  a SALE.  Tisha of Tisha's Thread works is have a Jim dandy one.  Selling her books of our interest basically two for one.  Buy one book and the other is free.   She  has Silk Ribbon books, CQ Books, Creative Doll books, CQ Beads book just to name  a few types of them.   She says it is going on for the month of March.  I have purchased some  and promise I didn't buy them all.

So give that little gal a call and see what kind of trouble you can get into.   Her store is Tisha's Thread work      and cell # is 1-810-678-8191.  She will be happy to help you in anyway with titles and subjects.

Also these are not on sale but she has beads, threads and wonderful fabrics and lace and all kinds of pretties.  I could go on and on but she has a treasure trove of goodies.  Now remember only the books are on sale.

Now remember my motto:

SHOP TIL YOU DROP
SPEND TIL THE END
             AND
BUY TIL YOU DIE

Hugs and have a great weekend.  Create and sew to your little hearts content.

Happy Valentines day you crazy ladies!

Happy Valentines Day !

Pat's New Magazine is Out

Hi all,  Pat has given us an early treat with her magazine out for us to look and touch and look again.  Thanks Pat for a beautiful magazine of Crazy quilters.    Here is where you can order it.   It is like to me when you use to get the Sears and Roebuck catalog.   Such an exciting day when the postman deleivered it.  Everything stopped and you had to look at the pages over and over again.   Sadly when we moved a few years ago I had a 1975 catalog and somehow it found it's way to the trash.  but never the less I had lots of good memories about those catalogs.

There is a lady out there in cyber world and her name is Di van Niekerk.  Now y'all may have already know about her but she has some beautiful work.   I just had to share her site with you.   The ribbon work is just beautiful.  The link is a balerina and the detail is to die for.  Thought y'all might like to take a peek also.

There you go,  just a quick post but promise pics soon.   I know you all have been creating to your hearts content and making something beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world today.

Hello Denise here,

This is my February block.  After much fooling around with colors and embellishments, I realize I need a lot more practice at this. Sometimes the flowers come out good, other times not so much. But I have to say I am having a really good time.  Love seeing all the posts from our former classmates on Pat's summer classes.

Off for now --Denise

It's February and my block is done and done

Well here is is February already.   Seems like yesterday I was just saying that for 2012.   I have my February block done for the Crazy Quilt challenge of a block a month.  I am making mine 8 inches though instead of the 6 inches.  A little more landscape to fill.   My mother in law years ago made a fan quilt and I thought I want to do that on this little block.  If she were alive today I know she would love having some of these.  So Ona this is for you.   She wasn't a blingie lady, guess she left that to her daughter in law.  I was blingie enough for us both.  It is hard to know when to stop adding to these little treasures but here is my rendition of a fan quilt.

Hope you enjoy looking and taking a peek at it.

I tried to make soft colors here the best I could for Ona.  Her favorite color was green hence the green here.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my part of the world.  Hope you are enjoying the other members beautiful work.

XOXOXO

January Block CQJP 2013

Hi there lovely ladies! How is your week going so far? I hope all is well with you and you are busy creating:) I just wanted to pop in and share my "January" block with you that was created for the block of the month in CQJP 2013.  I'm sure most of you follow, but for those who may miss it or are new, click on the link and it will take you right to the site. This a 6 x 6 block and I folded over the seems for the pic so you could get the idea. I have no idea until the end of the year what I will be doing with these so I left the borders neutral so I would have options. Probably some thing in the way of a keepsake for my youngest Granddaughter as in her world I am her favorite person, how sweet is that:) Have a great creative week!
