Countdown to Christmas Nearing the Finish Line

Hi there CQer's! I hope you are all near ready for the upcoming holiday. Nearing the countdown to Christmas and this will be ready for gift giving as I'm ready to cut the back, make the lining and put this little gem together. This along with what seems like a zillion other things is almost there. Thought you might like a peek before I continue. Off to JoAnn's Fabrics to get something suitable for the back then I will get it ready to attach the purse frame. My dear friend loves birds and belongs to a "Bird Club" and now she will be able to attend meetings and get together's in "style". It sure has been fun to make and more with be springing forth eventually. I still have the 3 Bridal bags to finish (finished one) but they had to be tabled until the holidays are over. They are Keepsakes anyway and it will be along time before the young ones will be ready for that walk down the isle.
A big thank you goes out to Pat Winter (link on the sidebar) for teaching this creative type of Art and if it hadn't been offered at the AG this last year I may have never taken it up. Hugs Pat!  xoxo
Off and runnin' still lots to do...........

Hi Everyone:  This past week I received an order from Fancy Crazys that was way past being ok. She showed a selection of fabrics in blue (set up in photo in pinwheel fashion). They all looked great. I paid $10 and when they arrived only a very few were the same as the photo. A number of them were unusable totally ugly prints that would not be suitable for CQ. or for washing your kitchen floor.   I wrote her to tell of my displeasure and gave her several days to reply. She did not, so in fairness I am giving fair warning. I hate doing this, but..............I also hate being cheated.

I also received an order from Gypsy Feather which was outstanding. She has some Embellishment kits that are beyond awesome. They come in a "gift box" with clear window all set up in a beautiful arrangement and tied with a lovely bow. Too pretty to even open up, but you know I will.  Her fabrics were also 20 times nicer in person than in the photo online which is saying something.  I can't say enough about the quality and presentation of her goodies.

Thankfully, I can say the first order mentioned is the only time I have had to leave a negative comment.
You all have a wonderful weekend!    Denise

Works in Progress or what am I going to be?

You have to remember I create these while Baseball and now action shows are on. Lots of action the better in my book, no girly shows for me. : )  So sometimes I do get carried away but after learning this wonderful art form I think there is no such thing as to much.   While in my art room  and playing with my "messy" work I am thinking I can be doing CQ so it just goes hand in hand with me.  I have my sewing machine all set up in my art room and can just play with either media.

This sweet purse is trying to decide if it wants a handle and fringe or what is wants to be when it grows up to be a purse. Of course I love these colors and the little critters that we can put on them.  I am thinking some fringe will give it a tad more bling.   Love that word.  BLING

NEXT PLEASE

The 75% finished pillow, I branched out and did different colors than I usually work with for my personal use. I don't have a clue what I am going to do with it, finish it and put up in a box  or sell it? I did have to challenge myself though and work with these soft and yummy colors.  Now Pat did say that it is hard to work in colors you don't normally use, I think she said that it is what my ears heard anyway.  Do your ears always listen to what is being said or do they interpret what you want them to hear?   I think sometimes mine do.

Had to show some of the "critter's " on here a little closer. Now my spider almost looks like it could be something giant and growing but nope just some little beads and thread. I do love putting these little additions on the CQ work.  I think the hardest thing is to know when to stop or just keep going until it weighs 100 pounds.  Now if you have read my other blog at anytime you know sometimes I do get carried away with things like the little spider growing and taking over the world just little things like that.  Sorry my fingers just get carried away sometimes.

Now some little love birds were added, so sweet I did add some beads on their neck and thought better about putting red beadie eyes on them. They do have mean looking eyes and I don't know why unless they are always on the hunt for food and predators.

NEXT PLEASE , like the CQ works of art are actually standing in line wanting to be talked about.

Now this next pillow is in sections, don't have a clue what happened to the whole pic and thought maybe with Christopher's lips perhaps?  This I am referring to a sketch or part of a sketch I did of Christopher Lambert.  His lips have disappeared also but actually I have erased them many times trying to get right.   Maybe like the dish ran away with the spoon in the Nursery Rhyme?   The lips and the pillow pic are off having a great time.   Told ya I do get carried away sometime.

There you go my CQ work for a few days.   I am trying my hardest not to get burned out and spend every second on it so I will get burned out.  I do love it and thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in the CQP world.   I know some of the other authors have been creating also.

The Start of Something Pretty

I just couldn't stand it, I had to show you what I am working on.   Well some of what I am working on at the moment.    Now that baseball is over I just Crazy Quilt and sketch at night while watching our TV shows, hubby and I.

I had made one fantabulous pillow, in my opinion for our bed.  So I was thinking our little love seat in our bedroom is drab so why not spiffy it up with a go with pillow?  I am fixin to start doing the fun fun part----BEADS-  but had to show one or two parts  of it.

Don't know if you remember about the jackpost estate sales we went to hear a while back, where I found the beautiful earrings for $2.   I had to have a long talk with myself and say ~ Annette you promised the daughters of the lady you purchased the earrings from that you would make something pretty using them.  So I finally gave in to my promise and added it here to the hat of the ciggie on my pillow.

So here we go, the pin I thought makes a wonderful addition to my victorian gal.  I know those hats were probably heavy any way so might as well add some more BLING !!!  I am not through adding goodies to her or the pillow, oh no the pillow needs to weigh what 100 pounds before I  finish one.   I know I get carried away with the stuff but it is just so pretty.

Now also remembering back when Hubby found a beaded dress for $5 at another estate sale that same day, I thought about selling it on ebay or some such place and thought no I want to use it and every bit of it.  So I cut, oh I did hate to do it, but the dress  was a size nothing and I knew I would never need it so my pillow is now sporting some pearls and pretty from the dress.  I had promised the dress that I would make it happy.

Here you go part of a sleeve.  Already beaded and sequined, I think it goes perfect with my pillow and have given it a good home.

I have another pillow I just started for grandaughter, she changes colors so often but I went ahead and started one for her, but you can see it later.  I have sewn the lace on it and fixing to get it to the point of where this one is and then I can BEAD to my hearts content.

There you go just couldn't wait to show yall what is going on in my world this week.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world.

CQ for a sweet 9 year old

I made this little purse for a special 9 year old.  A granddaughter of a very dear friend.  The little girl is artsy, very artsy so I tried to make this young and artsy for her.  the fringe was to big so I just got my handy dandy sissors and worked the balls over.  I looped some ribbon over and found a big yellow orange button to fasten it all together in case she has some treasures in it and doens't want them to spill out.

thanks for looking and off to go do something productive.   Well this morning I did sew up a director' chair back and bottome but that was not a big project at all.

So what else will the day bring?  I don't have a clue but will enjoy whatever comes along.

Yea my Purse if Finished !!!!

You know, I wonder if y'all are like I am?   When I make something for myself I always put it on the back burner and then one day wake up and think-----why don't you finish something for yourself?    So Mz. Adventure here did it.   I finished the purse I was making for myself.  I started it forever ago and now I am actually with a purse.  I usually don't carry very much of a purse but here I go with Mz. Bling herself.     I put close ups on my other blog but had to post the beauty here.   I am so in love with the form of art and just can't get enough of it.  I noticed some of y'all are doing like squares and to make a coverlet or throw, I am thinking I want to try this next year and spread my wings even further in CQ.

Thanks for looking and stopping by to see what is going on in my world today.

I Just haven't Been Able To Get Back To It....

I have been dying to get back to my crazy quilting Christmas gifts projects that I wanted to have done for the upcoming holiday season. However, my sister came to visit and we were of on a needle felting adventure which led to multiple needle felting projects and patterns being created.

We did manage to get some shopping done so I have to say that I was very bad in that I added quite a bit of wonderful trims, laces, etc. to my crazy quilting stash - which is what I'm so anxious to use.  I'm going to try and fit some creations in but won't be able to do anywhere near as many as I had wanted to. There's just too much on my docket right now and too little time.

However, if you love crazy quilting and creative embroidery you might like to know that I've been continuing to post lot of links on my The Best Free Craft Articles blog to various free crazy quilting projects, tutorials, tips, how-to's for stitching, etc.

I've been posting links to the wonderful crazy quilting and creative embroidery posts by Pam Kellogg, Cath Walker, Maureen Greeson,Betty Dekat, Jo Newsham, Carol Daisy, and Julia Camilleri for years now.  If you're not aware of any of these incredible artists all you need to know is that all of their creations are just breathtaking.

If you'd like to see some pictures of some of the wonderful projects please check out the following pages:

I'll be posting a lot more links between now and the holidays so if you get a chance you might want to check the pages out again.

Looks like a hurricane might be heading our way for the beginning of next week.  I've go my fingers crossed that it goes out to sea.

Lace to play with

I just had to pass on this great deal.  I asked Carole if they had this all the time and she says they do.  Flights of Fancy has this package and for $13 you get a lace package.  Not yards of it but perfect for the CQ.   I tried dying it with food color lie someone suggested and hey that stuff works like a charm.  It was a tad dark so good ole H2O works wonders to lighten it.  I do have Carole's like on the side bar and I think Marilou had some pretties she had gotten from her also.

A great assortment of pretties to play with.  I did use the little flower and the dragon fly.  Bless his little heart, he has so many beads on him I don't think he could fly or even walk to think of it, but he is strutting his stuff he is so pretty.

There you go just wanted to pass this on to y'all.
Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world and my other CQ ers  .

Mini Boho Bag Xmas decoration

Hi folks,

Thought I'd share one of my latest makes with you.   Its a little mini, mini boho bag exactly the same style as Pat's pattern, the same shape, made the same way with lining, interfacing, all the bits.  Its intended to grace my Christmas tree come December(I make all my own tree decorations). The Santy image is from Magic Moonlight, the heart lace around him is my own make and I have crocheted the handle and made a beaded crochet trim for the outside of the bag. The size?  Approx 6" by 5" including all the edgings. The green trim is from Prima Flowers.  I have 2 more of these little bags in the pipeline..

A Little bit of Black

You now in Pat's class someone, maybe Geraldine did a beautiful purse with black. I can't remember but think it was her.  so I was making a purse, a little bigger than our accessory purses and thought oh some black would be a touch.  So here is the purse,  this one I botched up so Annette gets to keep it and use it.  Yea for Annette.

Hope all are having a great day and those little nimble fingers are sewing like crazy.

I have my new calendar  of Pat's coming and can't wait to see it and have a perfect inspiration to look at all year.

I uses the little flowers from Tisha, the butterfly from Geraldine and the bee from me.

There you go and thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world today, well it was yesterday that I finished it but close enough.

Purse Frames "Sew in Style"

Hi There fellow CQer's. I just wanted to share some good finds if you all are in need of purse frames. I found  these on ebay and they are all sew in style. I plan on using most of them for holiday gifts and the little purses don't take much time to get all "purdy". They basically make up very quickly once you get started. So that being said I will be starting on these soon and have a person in mind for each. They are about 5 1/2 wide and will be a little larger than the coin purses we made at the AG in Pat Winter's class.  The frames are much prettier in person but I couldn't capture their loveliness in the photo. So looking forward to working on them! What fun. Have a great creative weekend all!

Teal and Pink

Hello hello, I just finished a million well it seems like it bookmarks  with CPF (creative pieces of fabric) and then did one to match or go with a bridesmaid purse.  The handle is braided with some ribbon and trim I found at Hobby Lobby.  I thought it would look weddingish, not sure that is a word but here it will be.

Now Hobby Lobby, besides being a fun place to hang out can be profitable.  I had this little purse with me looking for the trim and a lady stopped me looked at it and said I want one and I want it soon. I told her the price, she looked at it and said sounds good to me.   So off I went prancing like a show horse and paid for my goods I found and went to the car and told Hubby well what I just bought was free.  In my mind it was because what I purchased was a tad of what I will get for the purse.

I ordered the colors I wanted from Tisha and they are in so another project, oh me what fun, will be in the works.

So here you go, sent to my friend Denise and she said oh put it on the blog so here it is.

Hope y'all all have a fun and creative day.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my Crazy Quilt world.   Love it that we have so many authors, makes it a fun place to be.

Flowers, Flowers and More Flowers

Hi there all of you CQer's! I just wanted to give you a heads up with a short post to let you know about the wonderful blossoms I received in the mail this week for my stash building. These little gems can be used on more than just CQ projects so run on over and check out Carole's sale at Flights of Fancy as today is the last day of her 15 % off Sale to support Breast Cancer Awareness. I will admit, "guilty" I had to go back and make another order for treasures that I had been dreaming of. Check out the Flights of Fancy link on the sidebar to go shopping, need I say more,  I love the selection and everything is always shipped really fast. Have a great creative week!

Hugs to all  Marilou xoxo

Just checking in

Hi ladies, I have unexpectedly become so busy and miss my stitching. One of my mother in laws rentals came up and we couldn't find a painting crew so I had to do it. For three days I painted boring white walls, then I went to St. Joe and painted my son's apartment, now I am in the process of cleaning, reorganizing my mom's bedroom and we are going for paint today. I'm also getting her a new comforter and stuff which will be a fun surprise. I swear I threw out enough clothes to supply a country. I made her sit and okay what I was donating. So, at least two more days working over there and then I have a quilt show on Saturday and an antique show on Sunday. I'm feeling a bit tired these days but looking forward to picking up a needle again.

I wanted to share these beautiful delicate silk ribbon flowers that Flights of Fancy Boutique is now offering. They remind me of the vintage flowers on the hanky pockets. So pretty and very reasonable.

I am also wrapping up the 2013 CQ calendar soon. So, although I am keeping very busy, just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you all. :-)

A Little Bit Of Charm

I recently finished a Charm Swap over at the  The Trodden Path  for a group I belong to over there. These measure a little over a 1 x 1 square, the pic makes them seem large but they are tiny. It sure was  a lot of fun and was great way to use up those teeny tiny bits and pieces, You can't call them scraps cause they are even smaller so I call them "Bitsys".  Kind of a fun word,  just like charms, long story short I decided to make up these as it was a fabric charm swap and I could  make a few SRW flowers and be a couch potato while I got over the flu. I think they turned out kinda fun and now they are on their way to Constance Taylor so she can swap them out. If you get a chance don't forget to visit my other blog  Lulu's Heartful Creations for more creations and Art related things, though that is where I normally would post this I thought this would be a good share for all of us CQer's  and gals that took Pat Winter's class at the AG this past summer. Now the weather is cooling off I will finally get some CQing done that I have in mind for the holidays for gifts. I always have lots of irons in the fire and still a few UFO's but we all have those, don't we??

Have a lovely and creative weekend, Hugs Marilou xoxo

Time for a change

Hi dear ones,  there comes a time in your life when things need to go on and change.  I have chosen to make new stockings for Santa.  In Pat's newest magazine, which I might add she featured her AG students in it, there is patterns that Kathy Shaw graciously gave us.  Her site is here .  What a treat it was to see this when I have been thinking this direction.  So the lady one is almost done but not sure about the guy one.   I don't know if gradson who is now 24 would like such a girly stocking so have to think about this one.   He wouldn't say anything just thanks Nana but will see.  This stocking is almost done, waiting on some Christmas charms and maybe that is it and still have to line it.  So here it is and will post close ups on my other blog

Here you go about 1/3 the size of the old stockings but Santa get at a loss sometimes of what to fill it with.

Now I also got a pretty shipment from Shannon at Sweet Inspirations  I just had to share these with you.  Isn't that the rule in life to share our new found treasures.  What am I going to do with these, it is a surprise.

There you go see you later and happy sewing.
Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world today.

Hi everyone:  Finally I finished my two Gatherings projects - I have to say that I enjoyed every minute even though some of the time I had no clue what I was doing. I've been kind of sidestepping hand embroidery all my life but decided to challenge myself.  Glad I did, but we had such a good teacher in Pat that it made the work much easier.

Thanks also to Annette for keeping us all together as we go along and make more lovely things.

TAA DAA Guess what is finished?

Hummm can't guess what is finished?  Will give you a hint it's name was the beast and it just grew and grew and now it proudly fits on our bed and still thinking if it stays there at night or we sleep on the floor.

I will post the other pics of it on my other blog, don't want to bore you with the details but wanted to share with you the PILLOW !!!!!   Will I make another again?  You bet!  I am thinking about doing a couple or maybe four Stockings that were in Pat's magazine for Christmas.

Thanks for looking at it and I even got my sewing machine out to put this beauty together.   I have been sewing the pieces together by hand while watching our baseball games.

I do want to thank Janet Ghio my Roses friend of how many years Janet, Pat Winter, Shannon and Kathy for their lace and their goodies and just supplying a lot of these pretties.  Shannon and Kathy I cut y'alls beautiful lace in parts and hope didn't over decorate it .  I have that tendency, but love sewing on all those beads. Now I cannot forget Geraldinewith her pink flower buttons.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world today  and my fellow author's worlds also.

Visit me at:( http://www.shermania-castle.blogspot.ca ) ..." The Grand Lady " If you want to read my " Trish Stash " posting. Have a lovely week Ladies !!!

Sewing and Creating?

Hi dear ladies,

Just checking on you all making sure your muse is still at work and you are creating and sewing and drawing and just all round playing.   I think that is what it is, if we put to much pressure on ourselves I think it becomes work whatever creative art we create.

I am still working on my pillow and it slowly becoming not the beast but a butterfly.  LOL the main reason I did call it a beast though is because it is sooooooooooooooooooo much bigger than the purses I have been making.  Right now I am to the point of making the pillow that will hold the CQ top and finishing it up.  That may take longer than the playing and creating of it.  Sometimes that part does take forever or seems to.

I have reorganized my art room and of course can't find my batting for my CQ, so will "have" to go to JoAnns or Hobby Lobby or some place and get the batting and you know as well as I do something else will call my name and I will have to put it in the basket to bring home and hide somewhere in here.   You know as soon as I come home with my purchases I will find the batting, that always seems to happen, at least in my art room it does.

Alright just checking on you soon with your creations.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world and it has no pictures today.  : (

Red and Yellow or Tisha's wonderful goodies

I have Tisha's wonderful  goodies in my little hands.   It is beautiful.  I ordered Red, Yellow and Blues  for a project for granddaughter for Christmas.  In March we bought her comforter, pillows, shower curtains the whole nice yards of these wonderful colors.  So Nana was going to create a beauty for her.  Well, we helped her move Labor day weekend, you know that is what you do that weekend is Labor.   Guess what?  She totally changed colors. Yep totally.  That is OK I know the fabric and pretties will talk to me and say "Annette why don't you make this and that?  "  I will already have the fabric and goodies to play with.   so I am not sad on that account.   Well, when I finish the PILLOW.   Right now I am calling it a beast of a pillow, I think it is winning right now.  BUT I will just keep on keeping on and then tame it down to being a beautiful Crazy Quilt Pillow and weighing only 1 million pounds.  DH ( dear Hubby) says we will need a hoist to get it off the bed, or gently just roll it off of the bed at night or give it a special place in the house for when it is not preforming during the day, making the bed glow.  And one more thing he said is we will have to wear sunglasses when we look at it.    He was on a roll last night while we were watching the Texas Rangers lose terribly. I won't go into it but the pitcher did not have his heart in the game at all. That is all I am going to say on that subject for this moment.

Any way here is the beautiful stash I now own,  Allex you were going to get a pretty and colorful thingy is all I can say.  If nothing else I will paint a room or redo a room to go with the fabric.  I have no loyalty at all to any color well unless it is red or yellow or turquoise or magenta.

So here it is and look into the future for something created with these colors and pretties.  I can see it, just have to do it now.

Thanks for stopping in today and seeing what is going on in my world.

Crazy Quilt Passion: My first purse is finally finished!!

Crazy Quilt Passion: Little Purse Strikes Again: I do believe these sweet little purses get under you skin. Here is another one that said "make me up, you have a clasp----do it " !!!!!! So ...

Pretties

You know there are so many pretties out there in cyber world.  The choices are just mind boggling to me, more like a kid in a candy shop experience I suppose.  You know when you go to the store and they have shelves and shelves of not good for you goodies?  You touch every single one of them and pick them up and touch them and see something else and think OHHHHH I want that one?  That kind of candy shop experience.

Here I go writing like on my other blog,  I promised myself I would be tried and true on this blog and stick to the facts strictly the facts.  I guess kind of like on Dragnet the TV show of yesteryear.

I have here some beautiful lace pretties I have gotten in the mail.   Now one of them was a contest gift and I didn't even know I was in the contest.   I received an email thru my website, see I have several things going.   I created it for when I was a professional photographer.  It is neglected but it is a contact to me and one of these days I will play with it.  Soon !!!

OK back to the contest,  I was the 600th follower. Now was that not a treat when I got the email?  It was from   Kathy  at shawkl.   Now girls I was excited like I had won the lotto.   I didn't even know I was in a contest so that made it sweeter.

Here was my beautiful pretties.   In fact the middleish one I have cut up and put on my pillow I am making.   Can you not see lots of potential with these?   The beads you could put on them, not that they need them but you know I love those beads.  The bling, what is it a Raven that likes things that shine?  Was I possibly a Raven in another life?   THANK YOU KATHY !!!

Beautiful Laces, pillow worthy I do beleive.     These beauties are from sweetinspirations.   Are they not the prettiest colors?

Now one more set of pretties.

These are from Ireland and the center flowers are hand crocheted, I do believe from our own Geraldine.  Can you imagine the little butterflys coming over the big pond to Texas?   These are saying to me bling me up please.   Kind of like Kirk saying in Star Trek----Beam me up Scotty.

I promise you will be seeing all these pretties on my new Passion.

There you go and thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world today.

Little Purse Strikes Again

I do believe these sweet little purses get under you skin. Here is another one that said "make me up, you have a clasp----do it " !!!!!! So I made one more.

Now I have a nice order from Trish coming and it would be here if we had not been gone. We get our mail tomorrow and certainly will share that stash gathering as well as some pretties from Geraldine's shop and whatever else I have ordered and recieved.  I know we just go wild but it gathering is fun.

I have some beading to do tonight on another project, what would I do during the baseball games if it were not for Crazy Quilting?    Just wanted to share with y'all and different colors for me again.  Man am I ever venturing out.   This was my last clasp this size so now onward and upward.

I am still working on my pillow, so will share that soon.

There you go.  Thanks for stopping by in my world and seeing what is going on today.

I finished my clasp purse. I did have to change the way it was sewn together as the 2 halves did not look good when sewn together. I had to unpick and resew, back to front and then the lining with the batting separately, but I am very happy with the results. I whip stitched the area under the hinge and it turned out looking nicely finished. Barb

Early drawing of the CPFs

Hello, greetings and salutations,

We are running away early so my drawing on my other blog ---annettegraves.blogspot.com  was held.  I called these CPFs   Creative Pieces of Fabric.  Can't throw any of these treasures away they are created from the "scraps" of my treasured fabric.  I know y'all have some  fabric just like  me.   Recycle or whatever you want to call it  CPF is now in my vocabulary.

I hope the drum rolls weren't to loud and woke you up.    We have two winners   Terri Daugherty and Introverted Art.

I will have other drawings this is just to much fun.

Hi Everyone:  This is our gathering place and Annette you have done an outstanding job getting this together.
I scrolled down to the bottom and there, much to my surprise, is your recordings list that we can pick from to listen while we drool over everyone's creations. How clever!
Thanks for all you did to get this to work - I already sent for the latest edition of Pat's magazine and can't wait to see everyone's photo's.  Mine will be in the next issue.
Sew on,   Denise

Almost Finished

It is funny how these little purses grow on you.  Well accessory cases is their official name.   Sometimes you have to be brave and venture out of your comfort zone.  So venture I did.  Dear Pat took the time from a trip she just took and shopped for us at Tisha's store.  It is not in the computer world but she does have a phone number-- It is Tisha's Needlework Studio 810-678-8191.  I used deeper colors but thought I have this beautiful fabric and I want to use some for a special accessory case.  So the scissors and I went to cutting, I felt like Edward Scissor Hand just cutting and snipping away.

This is what I came up with---Monday I cut it out and sewed together, last night I  did SRE and beaded it.  Tonight I will put it all together,   I do this creative sewing while I watch Baseball with Hubby.  What team do I watch you ask?  The Texas Rangers.  There are so many teams out there and they are all good but the Texas Rangers are in our hearts.   I know each and every one of you have a favorite so   GO TEAM !!!!!!

Here you go, my don't know how many before this one purse.   It just went together so easily and I thought I may have new favorite colors.  Funny how we go back and forth like that.   I used some sequins I had just gotten in from India so they are tired from the long trip but preformed wonderfully.

Just thought I would have a show and tell of what is going on in our part of the CQ world.

Thanks for stopping by.

That's A Little Scary!

Every time I look at the purse I made in Pat's CQ101 class I just LOVE it. And, everyone I've shown it to has also loved it.

That is, until I showed it to my 13 year old grandson who was visiting last week. He always asks what I've made lately so I showed him my purse.

His reaction:

YIKES! That's A Little Scary, Nana!

I looked at him in disbelief and said what's scary about my purse!

He said:

 She is!

I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder!  :)

Thought You Might Enjoy Reading This...

I wrote this for my Linda's Blog. Thought you might enjoy reading it over here.

My Crazy Quilting Passion - So What Will These Supplies Become?

I've been rather busy the past few weeks working on some of my blogs and some of my websites, but I've managed to get some shopping in.

Oh, what a surprise, Linda? There's always time for shopping! Right?

Now you might be wondering exactly what kind of shopping  I did and what is it for?

As to where I went shopping -  if you know me it's a combination of letting your fingers do the walking and actually getting in the car and going retail shopping.

What it's for has to do with my new found crazy quilting passion and gifts for the holidays. Since some of it is for gifts this holidays season I don't want to spoil the surprise for the recipients so you'll just have to guess what I might be making out of all of the things I bought.

 So, what did I buy?
Well, we have some whites........
We have some creams......
We have some beautiful golds....
We have some elegant silvers....
The ever formal and traditional blacks.....
Some linings perhaps.....
Maybe some pink lace edging can be used somewhere?
How about some delicate green and black lace edging?
It might even be time to utilize the beautiful lace from my sister's friends' old wedding gown....
I really hate cutting such a beautiful gown, but the lace is just gorgeous....
Wouldn't you agree it's perfect for some crazy quilting piece(s).....
How about some amazing trims and embellishments from Flights of Fancy....
I didn't forget the dragonflies.....
Some cording and straps from Joanns.....
Some beautiful florals from Pamela Amundson of theDelightfuldesigner on Etsy...
Some exquisite trims from Pamela Amundson of theDelightfuldesigner on Etsy...
Colorful silk ribbons from silkribbons4you on Etsy.....
Maybe some of my own ribbon trims might be put to use.....

Maybe even some of my lace trim stash.....
Perhaps something from my bridal floral stash.....
Didn't forget the threads from Joanns..... I haven't had time to shop for Kreinik threads yet....Don't worry, however, I will.....
Or, maybe I might even use some of the buttons from my stash.....

I can hardly wait to get started on this crazy quilting idea.

First, I have to develop my patterns.  That's right there's a plural (s) in there.  Can't exactly give everyone the same style. Can I?  They compare after all....

So, I'm left to developing a general pattern that I can modify here and there.

Have any idea what all the above is going to make? Stay tuned.

For sure it will be revealed after the holidays.... I know, I know that's a long time to wait.  But, I don't want to give away the gift surprise.

Well, maybe I'll show you a few things between now and then. We'll see.....
